Hey Skyleaders 👋
When linking a List to a campaign, you can now choose which List columns should match your campaign variables.
This helps Skylead understand where each piece of lead information should go before the contacts are pushed to the campaign.
For example, if your List has columns like First Name, Company, Job Title, or a custom CSV column, you can map them to the right campaign variables and use that information in your campaign.
What is column mapping?
Column mapping means connecting a column from your List with a variable from your campaign.
For example:
First Name column → First name variable
Company column → Current company variable
Job Title column → Occupation variable
Personalized intro column → Custom variable
Once the contacts are pushed, Skylead uses the mapped values as lead information inside the campaign.
Where can you find this option?
You’ll see the Map fields step when pushing contacts from a List to a campaign.
This step appears after you choose which campaign you want to connect your list to.
Before finishing the push, you’ll be able to review and map the fields.
How it works
In the Map fields step, you’ll see all variables available for the selected campaign.
These include standard variables like:
Profile URL
Email
First nameLast name
Current company
Occupation
Years in current company
Total years in career
Next to each variable, select the List column that matches it.
For example, next to First name, choose the column that contains your contacts’ first names.
You don’t need to map every variable. If some fields are not relevant, you can leave them empty and continue.
Custom variables
If your campaign has custom variables, they’ll appear in the same Map fields step.
You can map them to any column from your List.
For example, if you created a custom variable called Icebreaker, and your CSV has a column with personalized opening lines, you can map that column to the Icebreaker variable.
This way, the correct value will be added to each lead when they enter the campaign.
Saved mappings
After you successfully push contacts to a campaign, Skylead saves your mapping setup for that List.
The next time you push contacts from the same List, the fields will already be prefilled.
You can still change them before pushing.
If you update the mappings and complete the push, the newest setup will be saved for next time.
Good to know
Mappings are saved only for the List you’re working with.
They won’t automatically apply to other Lists.
Also, the available variables depend on the campaign you select. If one campaign has custom variables and another doesn’t, the mapping options can be different.
Once everything looks good, finish the push, and your contacts will be added to the campaign with the right lead information ready to use 🚀
