Hey there Skyleaders,
in this article, we will tell you more about how to use LinkedIn and Sales Navigator Filters.
Open your Sales Navigator and click on the âAll filtersâ option.
The filter drop-down menu will appear in the following format:
As you may see from the above GIF, in the left top corner you have âLead Filtersâ and âAccount Filtersâ.
! Skylead can work only with the âLead Filtersâ option.
! Have in mind that you can also exclude people from your Sales Navigator filter search. Not all of them support this option, but the majority do.
! Some filters support the âBooleanâ search. It combines keywords with modifiers such as AND, NOT, and OR to produce more relevant results.
TOP FILTERS SECTION
- Keywords
Whatever keyword you type in Sales Navigator will select all profiles containing it. This filter supports the Boolean search.
- Spotlights
This filter is particularly useful if you want to narrow down a lead search that gave extended results. By choosing, letâs say - âPosted on LinkedIn in past 30 daysâ, the chances of improving the quality of your leads are higher, not to mention the cut in the number of prospects. However, have in mind that even when people do not post on Linkedin, it doesnât mean that they are inactive.
âShared experiences with youâ includes prospects that worked in the same companies or industries like you, or are members of the same groups.
âLeads that follow your company on LinkedInâ includes prospects that follow your current companyâs profile on LinkedIn.
- Custom lists
Custom Lists are divided into âAccount Listsâ and âLead Listsâ, which you can find on your Sales Navigator profiles.
You can see how to make a Lead List on your Sales Navigator here.
- Past Lead and Account Activity
Past Lead and Account Activity has to do with your LinkedIn and Sales Navigator settings, searches, and saved lists.
Therefore:
âRemove Saved Leads from Searchâ will not show leads that are in your Saved Leads List.
âRemoved Viewed Leads from Searchâ will not show leads whose profiles have been viewed by your profile.
âRemove Contacted Leads from Searchâ will exclude all the leads that you had a conversation with through LinkedIn Messages or InMails.
âSearch within Saved Accountsâ will search the leads only within the accounts you have previously saved on Sales Navigator.
- Geography
This filter is pretty self-explanatory. Keep in mind that you can search by continent, geographical divisions (EMEA), country, region, and city.
- Relationship
You can be somebodyâs 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-degree connection or be in the same group with a certain lead.
This is where you can filter your leads based on your type of LinkedIn relationship.
- Industry
When you click on the âIndustryâ filter you will get a dropdown list with all the industry options available on LinkedIn.
- School
This filter allows you to search for leads by College, University, and even High School your leads went to.
- Profile Languages
You can filter your leads based on what language their account is in.
- First Name and Last Name filters are self-explanatory.
ROLE AND TENURE FILTER SECTION
- Seniority Level
Seniority Level is not the title but the leadâs level of management in the current company.
- Years in Current Position
This filter is good to use when customizing your outreach.
Why this one in particular?
Because it has been proven that mentioning or taking into consideration in any way the number of years in their current position when targeting a lead resulted in almost 50% of the acceptance rate.
!â1 to 2 yearsâ and â3 to 5 yearsâ are a bit less reliable than the others, as the first one, for example, can range from 1 year to 2 years and 11 months. Also, the thing about these two is that the listed lead has a certain job experience of â1 to 2 yearsâ or â3 to 5 yearsâ, but you will need to visit the prospectâs profile to see in what company exactly. It doesnât necessarily refer to a current position.
- Years at Current Company
- Function
The âFunctionâ filter covers different departments of a certain company.
- Title
You can filter your leads depending on their title in a certain company, with the addition of choosing whether you are narrowing down your search based on their current, past, current or past, or past and not current position. This filter supports the Boolean search.
- Years of Experience
The filter âYears of Experienceâ implies the total of somebodyâs work experience in general, not only in a certain company.
COMPANY FILTERS SECTION
- Company
You can filter leads by using the company where they work, where they used to work, along with other below visible options. Also, this filter supports the Boolean search.
- Company headcount
Company headcount is a pretty unreliable filter as companies themselves put in how many (or in what range) employees they have. Thatâs how it happens that a firm listed as a â1-10 employeesâ company, turns out to be a â51 - 200â one.
- Company type
Use this filter if it is important for your outreach to the type of company that you are targeting.
- Past Company
This filter narrows down the search to all the leads that used to work in a certain company.
OTHER FILTERS SECTION
- Become a Member
This filter narrows down your leadsâ search based on how long ago they joined LinkedIn.
- Groups
It filters your leads depending on the groups which members they are. To know more about how to target Group Members on Sales Navigator and all of the options regarding this search, click here.
- Posted Content Keywords
The âPosted Content Keywordsâ filter shows the list of people who posted something containing a certain word. Namely, the keyword showed up somewhere in their post or even just as a hashtag.
- Connections of
The âConnections ofâ filter targets connections of a certain prospect on LinkedIn.
