In this article, we'll be able to guide you on how to connect your email if you are using a Custom email provider.
First, navigate to the settings page, then to the integration tab, and choose the Custom SMTP server option:
Click on Connect and this modal will pop up:
Choose Custom Template.
This form will open:
This is all the information you need to populate.
Sender email - this is the email address from which the email will go from
Sender name - The name that will be shown to the receiver ( Your name)
SMTP settings
- Username - your email address
- Password - Your email password
- IP address/Outgoing Server Name is your email provider server name
- Port Numer - this is provided by your email provider
To find all this information you can google it by typing the name of your email provided SMTP settings.
If you are not sure who your email provider is just type your email domain in this website and chose MX from a drop-down many:
Insert the email domain in a dedicated field and click search.
You will see something like this:
The underline text is the name of your email provider.
You can enter this plus SMTP settings into google search.
IMAP settings
- Username - your email address
- Password - Your email password
- IP address/Incoming Server Name is your email provider server name
- Port Number - this is provided by your email provider
To find this information on the internet you can repeat the SMTP steps, just replace the STMP word with IMAP.
And the final step is to select between these two options:
Most email providers use TLS/SSL option, but there can be some that will require no encryption so use the one instructed by our email provider.
